Clifty Falls State Park (Madison)

Located near Madison, the waterfalls at Clifty Falls State Park are the main attraction of the area. It is deemed to be a nature lover’s paradise as there is so much to explore and admire here. Clifty Creek has a stony bed that is full of fossils. These fossils are specimens of an extinct marine ecosystem that included ancestral squids, brachiopods, ancient corals, and more. Collecting fossils from Clifty Falls State Park is not allowed but they can be collected from other locations nearby. These locations are easily accessible from the state park. The campground at Clifty Falls State Park has 106 campsites with electricity hook-ups and about 63 campsites without electricity. In addition to this, it also has youth tent areas. You and your loved ones can have a great time hiking and picnicking in and around the campground. Amenities provided by the campground include a dumping station, a swimming pool, sports facilities (tennis, etc.), and meeting & conference facilities. If you want to take your furkid with you when you go camping at this location, then you can do so as Clifty Falls State Park is a dog friendly campground. However, you would have to keep your little darling on a leash at all times. You would also have to clean up after your doggo when s/he makes a mess.

Peaceful Waters Campground (Bloomingdale)

As the name suggests, peace and tranquility are what you find at Peaceful Waters Campground. This beautiful piece of nature is home to a 4-acre pond that is full of fish. You can go fishing here, even without a fishing license. Other than fishing, you can also spend your time canoeing and paddle boarding here. The campground has cabins, electric campsites, and primitive campsites. So, no matter what sort of camping you like to indulge in, you are bound to find a campsite that meets your requirements. Amenities at this campground include fire rings, picnic tables, showers, and restrooms. If you were looking for a pet friendly campground in Indiana, then you can include Peaceful Waters Campground in your bucket list. Although pets are not allowed in the cabins, they are welcome in most of the other areas of the campground. However, there are certain rules and regulations that you would need to adhere to while visiting the campground with a pet. Dogs need to be on a leash at all times. The leash can’t be more than six feet long. You would also have to make sure that you clean up after your fur baby. Please note that aggressive dogs are not allowed in the campground. So, if your pupper is not friendly with other dogs or humans and tends to bark at them or jump up at them, then they may not be allowed to stay at this campground.
