Kirk Creek Campground (Big Sur)
Imagine waking up to stunning vistas every morning, feeling the warmth of the sun on your face and a soothing breeze in your hair – that’s what you get to experience at the Kirk Creek Campground. This campground has about 40 sites where campers can pitch their tent or park their RVs. Each year, between the months of November and February, whales migrate along the coast, which can be viewed from the campground. After enjoying some time at the campsite, you and your camping buddies can walk to a nearby beach. Or, you can drive five miles ahead to Sand Dollar Beach. This is where you can indulge in surfing, swimming, fishing and sunbathing. Also, taking a short drive from the campground would take you to various trails that are used for hiking, horseback riding and mountain biking. Luckily, Kirk Creek Campground is a dog friendly campground. And, so is the nearby beach, which means that your little darling can join in on the adventures. How awesome is that! However, dogs visiting the beach would have to be on a leash at all times and their pawrents would have to clean up after them.
