Blue Spring State Park (Orange City)
Blue Spring State Park is famous for all the manatees that call the place their home. When these gentle giants swim together underwater, it is a sight to behold. Some have even called it a spiritual experience. If you love nature and get excited at the thought of having a positive close encounter with wildlife species, then you absolutely need to visit this state park. You can even stay over at the campground or one of the rental cabins. The campsites are equipped with a picnic table, a ground grill, and a concrete pad. Restrooms are available nearby. Other amenities include a fishing dock, a gift shop, and a concession stand for food. There are a bunch of activities for you to indulge in. These activities are hiking, picnicking, swimming, tubing, snorkeling, paddling, scuba diving, fishing, birding, and boat tours. If you are trying to find a pet friendly campground in Florida, then you can stop looking as Blue Spring State Park happens to be a pet-friendly place. However, you would need to clean up after your dog. Also, you would have to make sure that your little darling is on a leash at all times. Dogs may not be permitted throughout the park. So, be careful to take your dog only to the designated pet-friendly areas.
Burns Lake Campground (Ochopee)
Burns Lake Campground is a gorgeous place that is perfect for outdoor lovers who want to spend some time amidst nature admiring its beauty and grace. With lake views from every campsite, it is not a hard thing to achieve. The campground is known for offering direct access to the backcountry. Hence, it is pretty popular amongst hunters and off-road vehicle enthusiasts. Amenities at the campground include vault toilets, picnic tables, fire ring, BBQ, and parking area. Burns Lake Campground is one of those campgrounds that allow dogs to accompany their pawrents. So, while camping at this campground, your furbaby can stay right by your side. Pooches must be on a leash at all times. They are not supposed to be left unattended at any point in time during your trip. When your pet poops or makes a mess, you would need to clean that up. It is best if you carry poop bags with you as they may not be available at the campground.
Rodman Campground (Palatka)
Located in close proximity to the 9,500-acre Rodman Reservoir, Rodman Campground is perfect for people who want to spend a few days fishing. After all, the reservoir is known to offer some of Florida’s finest freshwater fishing. Other than fishing, visitors can spend their time hiking, boating, picnicking, mountain biking, viewing wildlife, geocaching, and birding. Amenities offered by the campground include picnic pavilions, water fountains, restrooms, parking, and a boat ramp. Rodman Campground is a dog friendly campground. However, puppers visiting the campground would need to follow some basic rules and regulations. At all times, furbabies must be on a leash that is no longer than six feet. Doggos should never be left unattended under any circumstances. Also, parents need to pick up after their pets and dispose of all pet-related trash in the trash receptacles properly. Please note that in Florida, pets are not permitted in playgrounds, cabins, park buildings, beaches, bathing areas, or concession facilities.
