Kiawah Island boasts 10 miles of pristine beach with breathtaking landscapes. The sunsets at this place are quite stunning as well. Kiawah Island offers pet friendly beaches where your pet gets a chance to spend some time in nature; something that is loved by humans and pets alike. Dogs are allowed to go off leash and run free at the beach from November 1st to March 15th. If you visit the island at any other time during the year, then your furbaby would have to walk with his/her leash on; as pets are not allowed to go off leash between March 16th and October 31st.
Sullivan’s Island Beaches, Sullivan’s Island
The beaches at Sullivan’s Island have a tranquil environment that is just perfect for you to sit back and relax for a while. It is a dog friendly beach. So, if you want to take your dog along with you while visiting this place, you can easily do so. There are a few time restrictions that you would need to remember while planning a trip to this beach. You pooch can go off leash at this beach from 5:00 A.M. to 10:00 A.M. If you visit the beach in the evening or early morning, then your little darling would have to be on a leash as leashed dogs are welcome on the beach from 6:00 P.M. to 5:00 A.M. Dogs are not allowed on the beach between 10:00 A.M. and 6:00 P.M. Also, all the dogs on Sullivan’s Island, including pets of travelers who visit for a day or stay there for a few days, need to have a town- issued dog permit to visit the island and its beaches. This permit is issued by the Town Hall.
Hunting Island State Park, Hunting Island
If you and your furkid love spending time in nature and getting acquainted with the local wildlife, then Hunting Island State Park is the perfect place for you. It has beaches that allow dogs. However, your pupper would have to be kept on a leash at all times. The park has various geological features such as a saltwater lagoon, an ocean inlet, many acres of marsh and forest. Pets visiting this beach are expected to be at their best behavior and are also expected not to disturb any of the wildlife species residing there.

Well behaved pets are allowed in most of the outdoor areas of the park. However, they would have to be on a leash at all times. And if your furbaby starts being unruly or noisy, or disturbs the local wildlife in any way, you might be asked to remove him/her from the park. Also, pets are not allowed in the cabins and the cabin areas.
