Pet Friendly Beaches in Rhode Island

Napatree Point Conservation Area, Westerly

Napatree Point Conservation Area offers not only beautiful panoramic vistas but also a variety of wildlife species. So, if you have a pet that loves spending time in nature, exploring the surroundings and watching wildlife, then Napatree Point Conservation Area is a place that you can visit. It has a dog friendly beach there. However, there are a few rules & regulations and time restrictions to be followed while visiting the beach. Dogs are not allowed on the beach from May 2nd through Labor Day, in the hours between 8 A.M. and 6 P.M. They are allowed on the beach at all times during the rest of the year but they have to be leashed. Also, dogs are not allowed in the roped off areas as those areas are home to many endangered wildlife species.

Sachuest Beach, Middletown

Long stretches of white sandy shores, beautiful blue waters and the vast expanse of sky above— that is what you find at Sachuest Beach. Though it is a pet friendly beach, there are a few rules and regulations in place for pets and pawrents to follow. From Memorial Day up to Labor Day, dogs are allowed on the beach only between 5 A.M. and 7:45 A.M. During other times of the year, pet are welcome at the beach at any time of the day. However, they would have to be on a leash at all times, no matter at which time of the year they are visiting the beach. Pets are not allowed at the Rhode Island National Wildlife Refuge area as local protected wildlife species call that place their home.

Block Island Beaches, Block Island

Block Island is a gorgeous little piece of paradise with tranquil beaches, a number of wildlife species and tons of options for outdoor adventures. Depending on the beach you choose to visit, the host of activities you can indulge in range from swimming and snorkeling to hiking and wildlife watching. The sunsets are also totally worth your time. The best thing about this island is that almost all the beaches in Block Island are beaches that allow dogs. However, they are to be kept on a leash at all times so that they don’t go and disturb the thriving local fauna in and near the beaches.

Compass Rose Beach, North Kingstown

Compass Rose Beach is deemed to be one of the best dog friendly beaches in Rhode Island as there are no time restrictions on dogs who want to visit the beach. You and your furbaby can go there at any time of the day. You would just need to make sure that your pooch is leashed while at the beach. Compass Rose Beach is perfect for pets and pawrents who want to spend some quiet time out in nature, soaking in all the sights and sounds of the place. Spending a few hours at this beach would make your vacation even more memorable.
