Horton Vineyards, Gordonsville

The stone chateau tasting room, behind long neat rows of grape plants, with the hills at the background, is a sight to behold. Founded in 1989, they are thought to be the first vineyard to grow the Viognier grape in the state. Horton Vineyards is a pet friendly winery. However, dogs are not allowed in their tasting room. Thatch Winery, previously known as First Colony Winery, has more than two decades of experience when it comes to producing wines that are loved by wine connoisseurs and novices alike. The winery is located at such a beautiful natural setting that many people decide to use this winery as their wedding venue. It is available for other events and parties as well. Thatch Winery is one of those wineries that allow dogs to join their pawrents on the wine tasting adventure. Leashed pooches are welcome on the grounds, the terrace and the deck of the winery. However, your furbaby may not be allowed to enter any of the tasting bars. Still, you and your pupper are bound to have a great time there.
