However, with 2019 almost coming to an end, the preferences have shifted. Nowadays, many pet-owners fancy taking their companions along with them. Pet-tourism has grown multiple folds in the last few years. In the light of growing numbers, we have compiled a list of some of the best pet-friendly beaches to explore with your pooch.

Montrose Dog Beach, Chicago

Located on the Lake Michigan is the entry-free Montrose Dog beach. Though the beach is open for all, however, there is a $5 tag for using dog-friendly areas in the Montrose Dog Beach. There your dog can roam leash free, splash in the water, shake it off and then splash again.

Block Island, Rhode Island

12 miles off the coast of Rhode Island is the delight-zone of every dog. Accessible through planes and ferries from Rhode Island is the Block Island. Upon reaching Block Island your dogs can roam leash-free (leash will be mandated on boats and ferries).

Edisto Island Town Beach, South Carolina

Drive for an hour from Charleston and you’ll end up in dog heaven. The premises at Edisto Island are open for dogs all year long, though the leash laws are in effect. The beach offers several to-do activities such as Fishing, Swimming and Boating. Further, there are multiple options for a comfortable stay. You can pitch a tent at the state park’s Oceanside campground or alternatively, you can use a pet-friendly B&B as well.

Wildwood Dog Beach, New Jersey

Wildwood Beach is amongst the nicest spots in the country to spend some quality time for both you and your dog. The beach has a two story fire-hydrant building very craftily decorated with paw prints and dog bones to trigger the exuberant vibe. Dogs are required to be on leash at the beach except in the fenced area where he can freely have his share of exercise.

Huntington Dog Beach, California

Often called ‘Surf City’, California, has some of the best beaches and is home to annual surf city dog surf competition. Visit there and you might head into a dog surfing through the waves of California. Dogs are required to be on leash at the beach as per the city ordinance, however, if your pup is well-behaved, you can let him splash as much as he wants without a single worry.

Cannon Beach, Oregon

Oregon’s Cannon Beach is probably the most fun-oriented place for you and your canine friend. The beach hosts its own annual dog show with several fun contests. Best Bark, Best Trick, and Owner look-alike contest to name a few. The beach is placed with a blistering background scene. Consider clicking some amazing pictures with your pup, to rehash the memories later.
