Most airlines accept pets weighing 20 lbs or less in the cabin and no more than 100 lbs in the cargo hold. Larger dogs that do not meet the requirement of the cabin will be transported in the cargo hold. Before booking your flights with a pet, it is always advised to check any seasonal restrictions the airline may have.

San Diego

Famous for its beaches, lush parks and beautiful weather, San Diego makes for a great destination. No matter if you’re traveling with friends, family or solo, San Diego makes your vacation a memorable one. With so many amazing places to see and fun things to do, San Diego lures in visitors from all around the globe. Some of the just-can’t-miss spots include Balboa Park, Cabrillo National Monument, San Diego Zoo Safari Park, La Jolla Cove, Seaport Village, Old Town, Coronado Island, San Diego Bay and Torrey Pines State Reserve. If you want to go on a trip to San Diego with pets, then you need not fret because the city is pretty pet-friendly. And not just the hotels. There are a number of places — including restaurants and off-leash parks — where you and your pooch can have a great time. Stated below are a number of spots where you and your four-legged darling can spend some quality time together.

Gobble up some munchies at these cafés

Being a pet friendly city, San Diego has countless cafés and restaurants where you and your fluffy ones can grab a bite anytime you want to. Most of these cafés have outdoor seating with a warm and welcoming ambience where you can sit back and relax with your furbaby. Some of the most popular places include Fig Tree Café, Bayside Landing, The Patio on Lamont, Fred's Mexican Café and Slater's 50/50 (that has a special menu for dogs.)

Run free at the beaches and off-leash parks

One of the things that dogs love to do is go zoomies and feel the wind against their faces. And what better place to do that than the off-leash parks and wide beaches? As long as you’re responsible and clean up after your pets, your furry little ones are welcome at these spots. A few beaches and parks you can check out on your San Diego trip- Dog Beach (in Ocean Beach), Dog Beach (in Del Mar), Capehart Dog Park (in Pacific Beach), Rancho Bernardo Off Leash Dog Park and Dusty Rhodes Park (in Ocean Beach).

Doggy’s day in the spotlight

If your pooch loves making new friends (humans and canines), then there are various events that you can take your dog to while vacationing in San Diego. One such event is the Hornblower Cruises Annual Pet Day on the Bay. This exciting event involves you going on a cruise with your furbabies as both you and your four-legged babies have a ball. Pun intended. Other fun events are Barks & Brews Fest, Unleashed Surf Dog competition in Imperial Beach and Doggie Yoga classes in the park. Visiting San Diego with your pet? Get ready for all the cuteness that ensues. As much as we love going on vacations, we hate leaving our little floofy ones behind. San Diego makes sure that all its visitors have fun on their visit. So, if you want to go on a vacation with your pet, then this beautiful city is a great option for you.
