Ukraine International Airlines Pet Policy

Ukraine International Airlines only accepts pet passengers if the booking for it is carried out well in advance. It is of prime importance to be aware of the airlines’ specific pet policies to understand the requirements and prepare for a safe and comfortable journey for your pet(s).

Pet Criteria

Ukraine International Airlines welcomes dogs and cats if they meet the stated requirements of the airline’s pet policy.

In-cabin

Passengers are allowed to bring only carrier in the cabin, which can accommodate up to two familiar pets of comparable size, weight and breed. However, cats and dogs cannot travel together in the same carrier. The carrier dimensions as suggested by the airline must be within 21 x 15 x 8 inches, well ventilated and leaf proof. The combined weight of the pet and the carrier must not exceed 17 lbs.

Checked Baggage

Animals that exceed the weight and size restrictions of the cabin are flown as checked baggage. The carrier which must be large enough to allow the pet to turn around, sit and stand up easily is recommended. The dimensions of the carrier cannot be more than 43 x 29 x 29 inches. Also, the weight of the carrier including that of the pet must not exceed 165 lbs. Two pets of comparable size weighing up to 30 lbs each can travel in the same carrier. Similarly, 6 months old animals from the same litter, weighing no more than 30 lbs each can be transported in one carrier.

In-cargo

Animals that are large enough in size and weight as laid out by the airline are required to be transported via cargo.

Emotional Support/Service Animal

Ukraine International Airlines permits passengers with mental and physical disability to bring one emotional support and one service animal in the cabin at no extra charge respectively. While the dogs must be intact with collar, leash and muzzle, cats are required to wear collar and be on a leash. Documents for both emotional support and service animal are needed to allow them admission on board:

• Proof that the service animal accompanying the person with disability is trained
• Medical certification confirming that the passenger requires an emotional support animal
