Qatar Airways Pet Policy

Qatar Airways allows falcons and service/support animals to fly in the economy class cabin. It is of prime importance to be aware of the airlines’ specific pet policies to understand the requirements and prepare for a safe and comfortable journey for your pet(s). Qatar airways allows 6 falcons in the cabin at a time, so confirming the availability is the first step of many, as explained further.

Pet Criteria

Qatar Airways accepts 1 Falcon per passenger in the cabin. Dogs,cats, birds, small mammals and fish are permitted as checked baggage or cargo hold.

In-cabin

Only 1 falcon per passenger up to a maximum of 6 falcons in a single cabin are allowed in Qatar flights. The carriers should be visibly of an adequate size and sturdy enough to prevent escape

Checked Baggage

Other pets and carriers together weighing between 70 lbs(32kg) to 165 lbs(75 kg) can be transported as checked baggage on the same flight or separately based on international pet travel regulations. The carriers should be appropriately sized, well ventilated and secure enough to prevent escape. A typical rigid plastic container would do. And pet food and water must be sufficiently supplied for the duration of the journey.

In-cargo

Pets exceeding the 165 lbs (75 kg) mark will be transported through cargo hold. There is no restriction on the number of pets traveling through cargo but the rules may vary depending on specific aircrafts. The dimension restriction for small carriers is 69" (175 cm). For medium carriers the dimensions should not increase 85" (217 cm). The dimension should not exceed 96" (245 cm) for large carriers. Pet food and water should be sufficiently provided by you for the duration of the journey.

Emotional Support/Service Animal

Service/Psychiatric/Emotional Support Animals can travel at no cost in Qatar flights. Support Animals can travel in cabin to and from Australia, Brazil, Canada, EU, Georgia, India, Norway, Switzerland and the USA. To and from all other destinations, support animals can be transported through checked baggage. Qatar Airways follows the procedure stated in IATA Live Animals Regulations and any other regulations pertaining to the destination country.
