Philippine Airlines Pet Policy

The decision to travel with pets onboard Philippine Airlines must be communicated at the earliest. Last minute information shall not be entertained as it is subject to availability. It is of prime importance to be aware of the airlines’ specific pet policies to understand the requirements and prepare for a safe and comfortable journey for your pet(s).

Pet Criteria

Cats, dogs and birds accompanied by a passenger no less than 12 years are welcome onboard.

In-cabin

At present, Philippine Airlines does not allow pets to travel in the cabin.

Checked Baggage

Animals are transported as checked baggage in the hold section of the aircraft. Pets must be kept in a carrier that is leak proof, secure and large enough for him/her to stand up, turn around and sit comfortably. The weight of the carrier and the pet combined should not exceed 50 lbs.

Emotional Support/Service Animal

Only a dog as an emotional support and service animal is accepted on Philippine Airlines. While service animals are allowed on all flights operated by the airline, emotional support animals are permitted only on flights taking off to or from United States. However, documents supporting the need of the emotional support animal must be provided to the airline before the scheduled departure.

• A licensed practitioner must issue a certification stating that the passenger under his care has a mental or emotional disability as recognized in the DSM-IV and is in need of the emotional support animal for assistance during the flight or at the destination.
