EVA Air Pet Policy

EVA Air accepts only a limited number of pets onboard because of space restrictions therefore bookings should be made accordingly. It is of prime importance to be aware of the airlines’ specific pet policies to understand the requirements and prepare for a safe and comfortable journey for your pet(s).

Pet Criteria

EVA Air allows cats, dogs and rabbits on its flights. Pets must not be pregnant and should be at least 10 weeks old to be able to fly with the airline.

In-cabin

Currently, Eva Air does not permit pets to fly in the cabin however emotional support and service animal are granted permission for the same.

Checked Baggage

Pets are allowed to travel as checked baggage by the airline. During the entire flight’s duration, a pet must be kept inside a carrier made of rigid plastic material which should also be leak, claw and escape proof. Additionally, the carrier should be appropriately ventilated and must be large enough for the pet to make necessary movements inside. The weight of the pet and the carrier combined should not be more than 70 lbs.

Emotional Support/Service Animal

EVA Air welcomes emotional support and service dogs to fly in the cabin of the aircraft at no extra cost as long as credible documents are presented.

• In case of a service dog, all the required health certificates and documents to prove he/she is trained to assist the passenger is required.
• When travelling with an emotional support dog, the certificate from a medical practitioner must be issued stating that the passenger is undergoing treatment under his/her care, has a mental or emotional disability as recognized in the DSM IV and requires the assistance of an emotional support dog while traveling in the flight or at the travel destination.
