Azerbaijan Airlines Pet Policy

Azerbaijan Airlines, the flag carrier of Azerbaijan, allows pets to be transported in their cabin along with their owners, as checked baggage and as cargo in most of the routes they fly on. It is of prime importance to be aware of the airlines’ specific pet policies to understand the requirements and prepare for a safe and comfortable journey for your pet(s).

Pet Criteria

Dogs, cats, birds and other small domesticated pets are allowed to be transported as long as all the rules and regulations pertaining to pet travel are followed by the passengers. A pet travel fee would apply to your pet regardless of which part of the aircraft s/he is traveling on.

In-cabin

In the cabin, passengers are allowed to bring along 2 small dogs/cats/household birds provided that the combined weight of the pet and his/her carrier does not exceed the weight limit of 17 lb. The pet carrier must also not exceed the dimensions of 21 x 16 x 9 inches.

Checked Baggage

Pets who weigh between 17-165 lb. are allowed to be transported as checked baggage. The pet travel fee levied on pets traveling as checked baggage is calculated by combining the pet’s weight and the weight of his/her carrier. Hence, the pet travel fee might differ based on this combined weight as the weight of the animals being transported might be different. Pets weighing under 70 lb. is charged about $60 and pets weighing between 70-165 lb. is charged $120. Pet carriers the linear dimensions of which are between 62-80 inches are charged $60 and the pet carriers the linear dimensions of which exceed 80 inches are charged an additional $120.

In-cargo

Animals that weigh more than 165 lb. are allowed to be transported only as cargo.
