Allegiant Airlines Pet Policy

Allegiant Airlines allows pet to travel in the cabin within the contiguous 48 states in the US. It is of prime importance to be aware of the airlines’ specific pet policies to understand the requirements and prepare for a safe and comfortable journey for your pet(s).

Pet Criteria

Accompanied by an adult passenger (at least 15 years), domesticated small cats and dogs are allowed to travel in the cabin.

In-cabin

The airline clearly states that one pet carrier should accommodate no more than 2 pets in it. Also, pets are not counted as carry-on baggage; therefore, a separate fee is applicable. During the flight duration, a pet must be kept in the carrier which should be soft sided, leak proof and fit easily under the seat. The dimensions of the carrier as mentioned by the airline must not be more than 9 x 16 x 19 inches.

In-cargo

Due to extreme climatic conditions and reduced air pressure, Allegiant Airlines does not provide the provision of pets being transported as checked baggage or in cargo.

Emotional Support/Service Animal

Cats, dogs and miniature horses are accepted on Allegiant’s flights as emotional support and service animals. However, only 1 emotional support animal or 3 trained service animals is allowed per passenger. To be able to fly with an emotional support/service animal, a passenger is required to present complete documentation to the airline that includes:

• Veterinary Health Form
• Mental Health Professional Form
• Animal Behavior & Responsibility Form
• Trained Service Animal(s) Veterinary Health Form
