All Nippon Airways also known as ANA allows pets to travel in the baggage hold of their flights. It is of prime importance to be aware of the airlines’ specific pet policies to understand the requirements and prepare for a safe and comfortable journey for your pet(s). Only 3 pet carriers are accepted per flight, so confirming the availability and animal restrictions is the first step of many, as explained further.
Small animals like cats, dogs, birds, rabbits, hamsters and ferrets are welcomed in All Nippon flights. Cold blooded animals like reptiles, lizards, turtles, and fish are not accepted.
Except for trained and certified service dogs, no other animal is allowed to travel in the cabin.
The maximum total weight of the pet and the carrier should not exceed 100 lbs (45 kg) to be eligible for transportation through hold. The dimensions of the carrier should be less than 115" (292 cm). Not only should the carrier be well ventilated on at least 3 sides, leak proof and secure, but it should also contain food and water bowls supplied adequately. The animals should be able to sit, stand and move around comfortably. A hard sided carrier is highly recommended. What is essential is to provide proper documentation complete with quarantine requirements.
Trained service dogs like guide dogs, hearing dogs, mobility assistance dogs and emotional support dogs are accepted on board. Quarantine requirements of the destination country should be met for their travel. And in case of service dogs, a proof of their training and certification will also be needed.
