Air Tahiti Nui Pet Policy

Air Tahiti Nui accepts pet(s) onboard depending on the departure country and the destination you’re flying to. So, confirm all the details regarding this to ensure a smooth journey with your pet. It is of prime importance to be aware of the airlines’ specific pet policies to understand the requirements and prepare for a safe and comfortable journey for your pet(s).

Pet Criteria

Air Tahiti Nui welcomes only cats and dogs as pet passengers. However, any other pet that the airline approves of can travel in the cargo.

In-cabin

Small cats and dogs accompanied by their owners and not weighing more than 11 lbs are welcome in the cabin of Air Tahiti Nui flights. However, at all times, during the flight’s duration, a pet must remain inside the carrier which cannot exceed the size limitation of 16 x 14 x 8 inches. Two small animals of comparable size can travel in the same carrier, provided that they do not exceed the weight restriction of 18 lbs.

Checked Baggage

If your pet exceeds the weight and size limitations of the cabin, is an animal other than a cat or dog or if the flight duration is long, Air Tahiti Nui will transport him/her as checked baggage. The carrier in which the pet is going to travel should be large enough to allow him/her the space to turn around, stand up and sit comfortably.
