Most airlines accept pets weighing 20 lbs or less in the cabin and no more than 100 lbs in the cargo hold. Larger dogs that do not meet the requirement of the cabin will be transported in the cargo hold. Before booking your flights with a pet, it is always advised to check any seasonal restrictions the airline may have.

Air Serbia Pet Policy

Serbia’s flag carrier is Air Serbia and they allow small pets to travel in the cabin of the aircraft. It is of prime importance to be aware of the airlines’ specific pet policies to understand the requirements and prepare for a safe and comfortable journey for your pet(s). The airline requires a prior notice of the pet traveling with you, its weight and the container dimensions before confirming the pet’s transport. So to reserve a spot for your pet is the first step of many, as explained further.

Pet Criteria

Cats and dogs are permitted to travel with Air Serbia. The weight of the pet added together with the carrier’s weight should not be more than 17 lbs (8 kg) to be eligible for the same.

In-cabin

Only 1 carrier per passenger is permitted in the cabin of Air Serbia’s flights. For a pet to be accepted for in-cabin transport, it is necessary to ensure that your pet is on his/her best behavior and is not displaying any signs of aggression. 2 pets from the same litter can be transported in the same carrier as long as they do not exceed the weight limitations set by the airline. The dimensions of the carrier must also not be more than 15" L x 12" W x 9" H (40 cm x 30 cm x 24 cm) and should be spacious enough for the pet(s) to sit, stand, lie down and move around comfortably. It must also be leak proof and well ventilated with mesh/net.
