AIR ALGERIE Pet Policy

Air Algerie welcomes pets to travel in the cabin, baggage hold and through cargo. It is of prime importance to be aware of the airlines’ specific pet policies to understand the requirements and prepare for a safe and comfortable journey for your pet(s). Depending on the type of the aircraft, only a limited number of pets will be permitted onboard the same flight, so confirming availability is the first step of many, as are explained further.

Pet Criteria

Dogs, cats, birds and other domesticated pets are accepted for air travel with Air Algerie.

In-cabin

Small pets like small dogs, cats, birds, hamsters or turtles weighing under 6 kg can be transported in the cabin. They will have to be kept inside a waterproof and properly ventilated carrier. The carrier’s dimensions must be in line with the hand baggage allowance which is 45" (21" x 15" x 8"). The pet will need to be inside the carrier at all times and the carrier must be at the passenger’s feet.

Checked Baggage

Pets exceeding the weight and size limitations of the in-cabin travel will be transported as checked baggage in a warm and pressurized compartment. The container must be sturdy, secure, watertight and properly ventilated for a comfortable travel experience for your pet. The carrier must also have a label with all the necessary identification details.

In cargo

Unaccompanied pets and pets that are not not eligible to travel in the cabin or as checked baggage will be transported through the cargo service.

Emotional Support/Service Animal

Service dogs who can assist visually and hearing impaired passengers can travel in the cabin with the passenger for free provided that they have proper travel documents, are muzzled and harnessed and will be traveling at the passenger’s feet.
