Aerolineas Argentinas Pet Policy

Only a limited number of animals are accepted onboard Aerolineas Argentinas. Therefore, a passenger planning to travel with a pet must communicate the decision ahead of time to ensure a confirmed space for his/her pet. It is of prime importance to be aware of the airlines’ specific pet policies to understand the requirements and prepare for a safe and comfortable journey for your pet(s).

Pet Criteria

Only cats and dogs that are no less than 8 weeks in age are accepted as pet passengers on Aerolineas Argentinas.

In-cabin

Each passenger can only get one pet in the cabin of the aircraft. The pet must at all times remain inside the carrier, which can either be soft sided or hard sided. While the dimensions of the soft sided carrier should not exceed 19 x 12 x 8 inches, a hard sided carrier must be within the dimensions limitation of 19 x 12 x 6 inches. Apart from the dimensions which a passenger must ensure meets the stated requirement, the carrier must also be waterproof, secure and adequately ventilated. The combined weight of the pet and the carrier must not be more than 15 lbs.

Checked Baggage

If at the time of boarding the flight, the animal does not meet the requirement of the cabin and checks off the prerequisites of being able to travel in the hold, the passenger can choose to book that service on the spot for his/her pet.

In-cargo

If an animal is required to travel unaccompanied, then he/she can be transported via the cargo service of the airline. The necessary documents must be presented to the airline to secure space for your pet.

Emotional Support/Service Animal

Aerolineas Argentinas accepts assistance dogs in the cabin of all its flights. However, with certain rules and regulations in place such as the dog must always remain at the owner’s feet, not occupy a seat at any time, properly harnessed and on a leash attached to the seat belt. Also, the airline must be provided documents to ascertain the requirement of an assistance dog.
